PREBHA (BUKKU AUNTIE) THANJARATNAM

'Auntie' to all the children. She is the Director of the Canaan Children’s Home, responsible for all administration as well as taking care of all the children's needs (schooling, health, emotional and pastoral care). And always has time to listen to the children, especially the teenage girls and boys.

NAGARATNAM (AMMA) MANUELRAJ

Mother of four grown daughters is now 'Mama' (Amma) to all children. She runs the kitchen and takes care of the boys. Her own four daughters, Sharmila, Mala, Jayaranee and Janciranee are all in the full time ministry.

PAS E. (UNCLE) ABRAHAM

Fondly known to the children as 'Uncle Abraham', he maintains the father figure of the Children's Home. The children are able to come to him with their problems and confide in him. He sees to all their needs. He also works closely with the District Judes in Jaffna to receive and to look after the juvenile delinquents who are sent to the Children's Home by the Courts.

REV DR ALBERT V. JEBANAYAGAM

The Founder and President of CCH often visits the children to see to their welfare and needs. Here in this picture he's seen distributing treats to the children who look forward to his visits.

BEN KANAGARATNAM

Returning to his homeland after 35 years in Europe, is seen visiting Canaan Children’s Home and blessing the children. He is a childhood friend of Rev Dr Albert V Jebanayagam and has been appointed the European Representative of CFIC and CHC.

Once a month the children visit the main CFIC church at Kopay and stay over the weekend to attend all the weekend services. They look forward to this outing. Other services are held for them at the Vaddukoddai CFIC Hall.

HEIDI NICKLIN

Giving three weeks holiday to be with the children at Canaan Children’s Home. Living with, laughing with and loving them in the Month of March 2005. We have many visitors like this who come to work with the children. We welcome all those interested in this ministry to visit us.
